Portrait Photography

The second part of Sunday was our intermediate course where 6 delegates spend 2 hours in the studio with me doing various different styles of portraiture with a model and then they spend 3 hours in the room with Gary learning Photoshop. A couple of photographers did both courses on Sunday and their heads must have been bursting when they went home.

During the first 2 hours with me, we go through the various lighting we use in terms of high key, mid, colour and low key. Using softboxes then butterfly lighting and onto beauty dish lighting, we try to fit a lot into a short time and it works, as everyone goes away knowing a lot more than when they arrived, bursting to wanting to try more.

These photographs shown are all taken by Karen Clark from ‘Pink Creative’ a lovely young lady who did both courses and sent me a lovely message on ‘Facebook’ saying she was totally frazzled but went away sooooo excited at all she had learnt….

The following day I did a 7 hour ‘One to One’ with Paul and his son Steven from Newcastle, a strong father and son photography business, who wanted to get a good solid grounding on the changing face of the present and future of the photographic business, they also went away with heads spinning from all they had learnt…

I have decided to run a new course for photographers starting in January for 3 hours in the studio with me, where the delegates will shoot

portraits, with different styles of lighting as I can see there is a need for it…

It’s great being a Photographer!!!!
